You may not have a roomy garage (or a big-time bank account) to house a dirt bike, a snowmobile, and a four-wheeler. But let's take a trip down to la-la land and assume that you have a gazillion bucks, would you buy a vehicle that could take the place of all three? Of course you will! Now going back to reality, you may not have lots of dough, but apparently there is now a concept vehicle which is a dirt bike, a snowmobile, and a four-wheeler.

Tagged as the Hyanide, this was the concept vehicle created by German designers Oliver Keller and Tillman Schlootz for the 2006 Michelin Challenge Design which showcased vehicles made especially for California’s diverse and often rugged topography. It was named after a crouching hyena to which it has an uncanny resemblance tol; and the contraption's 60hp 500cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine will be able to perform, no matter how deep or rough the terrain is, as long as it's touching the ground, it will move on.

To drive the vehicle, you’d steer with your hands as well as your feet, and you’d wear special shoes that snap onto the pedals, like on a racing bicycle. To turn left, for example, you’d push the right side of the handlebar forward, to point the front of the tread left—it’s the same motion as on a motorcycle. At the same time, however, you’d also push back on the right pedal, angling the rear of the tread into the turn. This action would twist the tread into a crescent shape and whip the Hyanide around a turn.

For now, this vehichle is only a concept and there are no plans to produce them. But then again, lots of aficionados and auto-industy bigwigs were impressed with this one in the Michelin Challenge, so we will never know. It has a capacity of two riders, a 40 (h) x 36 (w) x 90 (l) in. dimensions, a 450-650 lbs. weight, and it could go as fast as 75–85 mph (est.).
