Heads up, here comes another speaker system for your Apple gadgetries! What makes this one different? Well, this one supports both the iPhone as well as the iPod. Like the iBlaster, Sony's Clock Radio and Speaker Dock doubles as a radio, triples as an alarm clock, and quadruples as a charger. Not enough? It also has a remote control. It's not exactly the La-Z-Boy, but it was made with home entertainment and gaming in mind so we don't need the massage feature (yet): the new Ace Bayou fiber optic X Rocker 4.1 True Surround Sound Chair. It's exactly what the name says it is. It's a chair slash surround sound speaker system. Details and a picture of the chair in the full article. |

The GPS folks of TomTom introduced a whole new device called the TomTom Duo, a device that is mounted on your car's stereo dash - touchscreen facing out - and that should serve as a GPS system for the modern car. But wait, it's also claimed that the TomTom Duo will support a unique USB docking station. The station could scan the surrounding area for Bluetooth devices, "allow direct control of iPods" and allow you to route audio of any portable device through the car's speaker system...all from the little touchscreen on the TomTom Duo! The TomTom Duo will also allow hands-free calling through Bluetooth phones and the playing of music straight from USB storage devices. The Duo will succeed the TomTom One as a whole new dual-purpose in-car device. |

It might not sound as fancy as plasma or LCD, but rear projection is not about to be left behind in the battle for display size supremacy. Japanese company JVC has unveiled a 110-inch rear projection TV that has a whopping 243.5 x 137-cm screen. That means even WWE superstar Big Show would be able to fit inside the screen, even if he's shown at a scale of 1:1 (if he's lying down, of course). The TV doesn't just have size too, because it also has quite a bit to boast about in the quality department. It uses JVC's proprietary D-ILA liquid crystal panel technology that features the so-called "full HD" (1920 x 1080p) resolution. Such a huge TV would go great with a huge speaker system like JBL's Mt. Everest. Unlike the Mt. Everest - which is already available to Japanese consumers - this 220W monster is just a prototype, and right now the commercialization of this rear projection TV has not yet been determined. When it does become commercially available, we will definitely put it on our list of must-haves. |

Maybe faith really can move mountains, but you better bring a few friends along if you wanna move the new Mt. Everest speakers from JBL. Ask them to help you carry this inside your house and then watch them float away on the breeze when you crank up this 500-watt monster to 11. Yes folks, 500 watts of chest-thumping power in a 38 - 18.5 x 44-inch, 313-pound package. We reckon that's just about enough power to finally dish out some earsplitting payback to those noisy neighbors that you hate so much. You might even cause some unplanned renovations on their house at the same time, since these babies look like they can be used for mining operations. The JBL Mt. Everest speaker system will be available in Japan on September 21st, carrying with it a retail price of 3,460,000 Yen (about $30,000 US). If you have the $30,000 needed to bag one of these babies, you might also want to look for a brand new TV. We recommend the 103-inch Plasma TV from Panasonic. Hey, if you're gonna get power audio, might as well get power visuals, right? |

When we first read this, we thought of a rocking chair. We'd see grandma listening to good 'ol Iron Maiden and Swing Out Sister. Then we see that it resembles more of something that you see on an airplane more than what you see in a home for the aged. It looks pretty comfy for a chair that rocks. It comes in different colors--faux leather in black, bone, and saddle. Made of durable microfabric with 4 recline positions. Good for days where you just want to lie down and headbang to some Queen. Works with all iPod players. So if you still got that first gen iPod, no worries there, eh? Got audio inputs, a master volume dial with LED, a 15 watt amp and integrated Altek Vision speaker system that could relax you and rock your world whenever you please. It comes with a hefty price range of $100 to $600. |

The Aigo F529 1GB Omnisphere digital audio system is an integrated MP3 player/amplifier/speaker system. Essentially, it's an all-in-one disco machine. It's even got a high-illumination LED featuring 4096 colors to set the mood just right. If a gigabyte of built-in flash memory is not enough for you (and let's face it, 1GB these days is smaaaaaall), the F529's capacity can be expanded via MMC/SD card. The cone-shape is for the 360 degree "omni-directional sound" (ooooh!), so it's better it you place this baby in the middle of a room. This way, you can enjoy the same sound quality wherever you are. The speakers also feature 5-watt output Dynamic Bass Compensation for more of the rich boom-boom bass sound. You can transfer your files to the the F529 via USB. It's also got an auxiliary input if you want to use it as a speaker system. Number of clunky buttons are nil - all you get are sleek lines and an elegant curves. Here's a bonus tip: With a little know-how and a can of paint, you can make this baby look like a mini nuclear warhead. Stick it in the middle of your living room and watch your guests get blown away when your "conversation piece" starts blaring out the mood music of your choice. The Aigo F529 1GB Omnisphere digital audio system retails for £69.99 ($132.652). |

In the age of thumb-sized storage drives, tiny mobile phones, and even tinier MP3 players, one would think that the grand, old boombox has met its end. However, thanks to iLive's IBCD3816DT you'll never again have to argue with your elders as to what was the better music player; this grand dame has managed to make everyone happy.Armed with a 2.1 Channel Speaker System which allows everyone to join in the music, your playlists are then loaded from your iPod, which is docked into the IBCD3816DT. This modern boombox accommodates the iPod Video, iPod Photo, iPod, the iPod nano, as well as the iPod mini. A port is also provided for iPod Shuffles, though this isn't quite as snug as the main dock in the middle of the body. ![]() Other features of the IBCD3816DT are: - Built-in audio CD drive - An AM and FM radio tuner which can be controlled via the LCD screen which defaults as a clock when not in use - An infrared remote control - An arm carrying strap for those days when you feel taking your beat to the streets. All in all, old school meets new school, and the result is music for everyone - and most probably one great party as well. |
