155 MPH Superbus

It may look like the future of the Limousine market, but this crazy design is in fact a 155MPH 'superbus'. The superbus comes hot out of the Netherlands from researchers at the Delft University of Technology and runs on electricity. Yes, thats a 155MPH bus that runs on electricity. Of course, this is a low riding bus so you cannot stand up on it, but it does seat 30 people and the passengers do have their own door.

The Superbus is the same length and width of a standard city bus, but it's only as high as an SUV. How do you catch this bus then? For potential riders to catch the bus, they have to text message the dispatcher, and are picked up anywhere they want along special speedways constructed for the bus system.

Think this is just another one of those concept ideas that will never be used in a practical situation. The researchers have plans to build a fully functional prototype for the Beijing Olympics in two years' time. Watch this space, blink and you'll miss it.

Walkie Talkie WatchesAs a guy who grew up watching X-Men cartoons, James Bond movies, and other sci-fi or spy-related ventures, I have fancied owning futuristic gadgets. It seems pretty soon my dream will partly come true.

With these Walkie Talkie Watches, I can pretend to contact a friend (or should I say Operative?) ala double agent on a world-saving mission. You might think that's a stretch, but the Norwegian Winter Olympic team wore these watches during the last year's winter Olympics - and I don't suppose it's because they think it matches their coats.

Sporting a very cool design, this watch has a 3km range and VOX (Voice Activated Operation), making these walkie talkies very ideal for chatty gossips who also happen to enjoy outdoor sports. It packs eight channels and 38 sub codes per channel giving you over 300 channel combinations for private conversation (told you it could be used for spying). The best part is, you don't have to pay any communication fees and there is no licensing necessary.

Other features include: a headset with PTT button attached; a funky, chunky wrist watch design with an antenna that tucks into the watch; auto channel scan and squelch control; five melody call tones; compatible with all Walkie Talkies at 446 MHZ; a backlit LCD display; stopwatch and alarm function; splash proof; battery low indicator; and 40 hours of standby power and 2 hours of continuous talk time (after 6 hours of charging).

Prepare to shell out £59.99 (around $110) for these babies though. Now if I only I could find a Batmobile and Adamantium exoskeleton and claws to go with them...
