After seeing both Sony and Microsoft come up with their plans to release their own motion sensing controllers - or at least, rumored to be - it's not much of a surprise at all to see other companies follow suit. We're talking about the Asus Eee, by the way, and somehow drawing a connection between the ultraportable laptop and the games console may be a bit of a stretch...until you see some similarities in the FCC exhibits report image. Check out how the upcoming Asus Eee Stick motion-sensing peripheral after the jump. |

Previous rumors have reported that the new Sony mylo will have PSP game support, but now that the FCC Exhibits Report is out, the possibility of playing PSP games on the new device may be a bit remote. However, new devices were added on the new mylo to make it more appealing. Find out about them in the full article! |

We've had our share of seeing strange keyboards, and most of them are created with the intention of looking cool and making things easier for the user. However, some keyboards fall short of the "making things easier" part, and Wolf King's new keyboard submitted to the FCC looks no different at first glance. Read on to find out more! |

Despite Sony's statements otherwise, more and more evidence towards the creation of the new PlayStation 3 SKU have popped up recently, like the FCC documentation of a Sony product with the model number CECHG01.There's another compelling evidence of a new Sony SKU, and this time it's just about as conclusive as the FCC documents: an online ad listing Blu-ray Player models, as well as PlayStation 3 models eligible for a Blu-ray movie promotion. The online ad lists the model number CECHG01 as one of the qualifying PlayStation 3 models for the free five Blu-ray movie offer. If you can recall one of our earlier reports, there were also talks that the FCC documents referred to a new controller that Sony is currently testing - they referred to it as CECHG01. However, with the model number being listed as a PlayStation 3 model here in this ad, you could consider the controller rumor debunked. Rumors and speculations just keep getting hotter and hotter. Do check this space often for more updates! |

The happy folks at the FCC have just given a thumbs-up to Harmonix's Rock Band wireless guitar controller for the PS3. After subjecting the product to some rigorous tests and passing them, it's finally received the required FCC approval that most every gadget out in the world aims for. We checked out the pics that the FCC has posted of their handling of the guitar controller. We're not sure if they actually got to test it with an actual copy of the game, but still, at least it seems as if they had fun... tinkering with the guitar controller. |

If the iPod can make the transition to the iPhone (and the reverse could be said for its new line), can the Zune make the transition to the mobile industry? Microsoft Chief Financial Officer Mindy Mount says that it's not unreasonable. Not a yes, but definitely not a no. The comment was made during a global technology conference held by Citigroup.A Zune phone is not unfamiliar. Around the same time last year, Microsoft was all thumbs up for the idea saying that "a Zune phone is definitely part of the future of this brand." Also, an FCC filing earlier this year was filed by Microsoft (and others) that indicates a "Zune derivative" phone. Perhaps they have changed their minds with the arrival of the iPhone? Rumors have been circling around that Microsoft may buy the company who makes the Blackberry phone line, Research in Motion (RIM). Microsoft denies this though, saying that their strategy is to integrate the Windows Mobile into its products while RIM (according to Microsoft) focuses only on its handsets. But to clear up any confusing notion, Mount's complete quote ran like this: "It wouldn't be unreasonable to think at some point there might [be] some integrated thing." It's probably not hinting at anything and might have only been said as a passing comment. However, it does mean the Microsoft is not closed to the idea, and there's still the FCC filing, so it could still be something. |

Market Watch reports that technology giant Microsoft has just filed for a gadget that'll most likely be taken as the company's answer to Apple's iPhone.According to the filing, which was submitted Monday to the Federal Communications Commission, Microsoft and other firms will submit for the agency's approval a prototype of a wireless device that could be used to talk over the Internet. It describes a wireless device that utilizes OFDM, a technology that can be used to route digital TV and voice calls among devices. While the FCC filing makes no mention of the Zune, analyst Rob Enderle said that the filing seems to indicate "an internet device or a mobile VoIP phone," that "certainly could be a Zune derivative product." A VoIP-enabled Zune would be greatly different from the iPhone, which is intended for use on cellular networks. |

We were just surfing teh intarwebs and we came across this little number called the Instant FM Music from ADS Tech. At first glance, we thought it was just a USB thumbdrive with an FM receiver crammed inside its guts, but upon closer inspection, it turned out we were wrong. In fact, the Instant FM Music plugs into your PC through a spare USB slot and lets you tune to your favorite FM or Web Radio station and record the station's entire playlist while identifying individual tracks for easy playback. The Instant FM Music does all this using a combination of Snaptune One and the company's own analog-to-digital audio converter and Radio Data Reception System (RDS) capture technology. Along with Instant FM Music's other software tools, this technology enables consumers to easily tune across the entire FM band, record live broadcasts and view displays of RDS/RBDS data such as station call letters, radio text and more on their PC monitor. No more listening to a song whose name you don't know! Plus, it's XP compatible and is Vista-ready. It even comes with its own carrying pouch. And the best part? It only costs US$ 50. Now, if you really want a dongle that'll let you record your favorite FM stations, then we suggest that you go get some pants on and grab this baby now. We don't know how long it'll be until they get the dreaded FCC Cease and Desist order, but we're betting that it'll happen soon enough. |

Sling Media has come up with another version of the Slingbox after it's been approved by the FCC. It's called the "Slingbox A/V".Recall that Sling Media has been a major player for the release of new versions of the omnipresent Slingbox and its applications for PCs and mobile phones. This time around, it's now possible to stream recorded content from devices such as the DVR or DVD player because it comes with audio/video cable inputs on the side. Originally, Sling Media's Slingbox does not have inputs for A/V cables. Convenience is the key, as Slingbox lets users record media from a connected TV and then play it back on a notebook computer connected to the Internet. Check out this first image of the Slingbox A/V before it comes out in the market. |
