Believe it or not, a revolutionary form of transportation has been designed to travel twice the speed of Concorde and five times the speed of sound. At its speed, the A2 aircraft can travel from London to Australia in under five hours while still being able to board 300 passengers. Details of the plane in the full article. |

There are a lot of ways to curb global warming. An example would be the use of electric cars which produce virtually zero pollution. Since there aren't a lot of these cars in the market, Andrew Angelloti built his own electric pickup truck with only US$ 6000.Details of his truck after the jump! |

Rafi Yoeli, founder of Urban Aeronautics and had once worked for Boeing and Israeli Aerospace Industries, is currently building a new type of battlefield ambulance able to rescue wounded soldiers where land vehicles and bulky helicopters can't get to.Dubbed the "Mule," the vehicle Yoeli has designed is sort of what you'll get if you cross a sled with a hovercraft. Light and fast, these little critters land and take off vertically, making it ideal and strategic for its purpose: search and rescue amidst the chaos and danger of a full on battle. Each Mule can carry two persons at a time and is controlled by air flow instead of being entirely dependent on surfaces. It requires no driver and can speed up to 100 mph without passengers. It has been raised that a patient being transported with proper medical care while on the vehicle would be dangerous, but it was pointed out that there might be no other alternative, especially if the patient is in critical condition. Janina Frankel-Yoeli, Rafi Yoeli's wife and marketing director, says that there might be some psychological factors that might affect the Mule's task. "The problem is overcoming the natural fear of entering a vehicle without a pilot," he added, but both civilian and military outfits in the US and other countries have already shown interest. Officially unveiled this October 14 at the International Association of Chiefs of Police convention in Boston, the T3 Series personal mobility was developed by Segway rival T3 Motion as a new light, agile and environment-friendly means for the boys in blue to get around. It sports a zero-degree turn radius and intuitive controls, much like its 2-wheeled competitor. The whole thing runs on a battery pack that is rechargeable via an electrical outlet within 4 to 6 hours. In an emergency, the pack can be swapped with a fresh set. The packs will power this scooter along at a brisk 25 mph. Other features include integrated LED lights, a lockable glove box, sirens and an optional GPS system. The battery and charger set cost somewhere between $1,200 to $1,800 depending on the model. While it's still in the test stage, we thought this'd be a good addition for the average fuzz, all the more as we see traffic becoming commonplace in most major cities. Then again, we'd love to see what a police chase video would look like using this rig. |

This is one car that certainly doesn't deserve a place in our deals section. This electric car from gadget shop Hammacher Schlemmer does 120 MPH an accelerates from 0-60 MPH in an amazingly fast 4 seconds flat. The car may be pretty small, smaller than most motorcycles and not that practical, but since when did that matter with a gadget? The $108,000 electric car features two electric motors that combine to produce over 1,000 lbf ft. of torque. It may look like a one-seater, but you and a passenger can seat (we wouldn't say comfortably) in tandem with racing-style four-point seat belts to keep you in place whilst you plough along your local highway at Ferrari-beating speeds. Safety has also been considered. This car meets the Car Club of America racing standards for safety and is fitted with hi-tech material, with body panels made from a combination of carbon fiber, Kevlar, and fiberglass, with side impact bars that offer four times the protection found in typical SUVs. Unfortunately, you cannot just add this $108,000 car to your basket and buy online, you actually have to go through the hassle of calling Hammacher Schlemmer up to make your purchase - a smart move with such an expensive car. You can put a bet on that within a few months time you will see celebrities running around in these cars claiming to be 'eco-friendly'. If they got rid of their other 10 Range Rovers and the 5 SUV's carrying their goods behind them, then maybe they would be. |

You may not have a roomy garage (or a big-time bank account) to house a dirt bike, a snowmobile, and a four-wheeler. But let's take a trip down to la-la land and assume that you have a gazillion bucks, would you buy a vehicle that could take the place of all three? Of course you will! Now going back to reality, you may not have lots of dough, but apparently there is now a concept vehicle which is a dirt bike, a snowmobile, and a four-wheeler. Tagged as the Hyanide, this was the concept vehicle created by German designers Oliver Keller and Tillman Schlootz for the 2006 Michelin Challenge Design which showcased vehicles made especially for California’s diverse and often rugged topography. It was named after a crouching hyena to which it has an uncanny resemblance tol; and the contraption's 60hp 500cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine will be able to perform, no matter how deep or rough the terrain is, as long as it's touching the ground, it will move on. To drive the vehicle, you’d steer with your hands as well as your feet, and you’d wear special shoes that snap onto the pedals, like on a racing bicycle. To turn left, for example, you’d push the right side of the handlebar forward, to point the front of the tread left—it’s the same motion as on a motorcycle. At the same time, however, you’d also push back on the right pedal, angling the rear of the tread into the turn. This action would twist the tread into a crescent shape and whip the Hyanide around a turn. For now, this vehichle is only a concept and there are no plans to produce them. But then again, lots of aficionados and auto-industy bigwigs were impressed with this one in the Michelin Challenge, so we will never know. It has a capacity of two riders, a 40 (h) x 36 (w) x 90 (l) in. dimensions, a 450-650 lbs. weight, and it could go as fast as 75–85 mph (est.). |

You may be wondering what does "Stealth Mode" do for your
environment-friendly baby Prius? Well, in "Stealth" mode, a Prius can
go up to 34 mph on battery power alone. Indiscriminate use of "stealth"
mode will reduce your gas mileage and may
shorten the battery lifetime. So if you're going to try this, do so at
your own risk. Here are some steps authored by Make-Pal Douglas:
Step 1- Move the steering wheel tilt lever to the unlocked position. Remove the screw which it previously covered. The full instructions await after the jump! |
