USB flash drive mod: who would steal a pink eraser? - Image 1 USB flash drive mod: who would steal a pink eraser? - Image 2 USB flash drive mod: who would steal a pink eraser? - Image 3

Ever get paranoid that your USB flash drive might get pinched? You may want to try out this mod from Instructables.com: hide your flash drive inside a pink eraser. This little activity is also for people who likes pink erasers (for some reason we can't conceive of).

The materials Instructables used in this mod are two Paper Mate Pink Pearl erasers, and a Toshiba USB flash drive. Aside from that, all you'll need is a knife and a rotary tool. Also an adult if you're too young to handle these things.

The process is deceptively simple. First, crack open your USB flash drive (carefully now; just get the chip out.) Next, get yourself two pink erasers. Cut one in half for the lid of the USB, and cut out just enough of the other one so that your naked flash drive can fit inside.

Now you can guess what's next. Just hollow out your sliced up pink erasers with the rotary tool so that your flash drive can fit snugly inside. Try to make it so your drive doesn't wiggle around. Voila! A pink eraser flash drive.

No one would think of stealing your eraser now. All you have to worry about now is that nobody borrows your eraser.

A word of warning though. This is a nifty project, but don't try it unless you understand the risks involved for your USB flash drive. You might end up with a pink eraser USB flash drive that no one would steal because it doesn't work.

good idea. ^^

this is more susceptible to getting stolen, because nobody would feel bad about stealing an eraser, whereas if it is a flashdrive their concience may not permit it.

I steal pink erasers all the time!

Youre right about that. Many people would steal an eraser more than a flashdrive.

It is a good idea though and it's easy to put together.
