The sun. Glorious, energy-giving, and a source of life for mankind. If
we could only have harnessed that energy to the fullest, the Gulf war
wouldn't have existed. Fortunately, industries all over the world have
somehow found quick (and admirable) solutions to our energy problems,
thanks to a number of solar devices
that are now available in the market, or are still awaiting patent
approvals from the government. Some are very promising, while some are
designed to be comic. Here's a partial list:
The HSL3010 It's
the single most useful solar device that anyone can use as it will be a
lot cheaper and lets you filter the various colors of the sun's rays,
directing it to your home. By 2008, when it's been tested for
commercial use, the product will become an indispensable household
device.
Solio Universal Hybrid Solar Charger Cool fact: The battery holds energy for up to a year.
Solar Power Rodent Repeller The device is a boon to plant-lovers who don't have the time to reposition their pots so that their flowers receive direct sunlight any time of the day.
Wireless, solar powered, weather proof speakers If you're out on a barbecue party, might as well bring these solar-powered speakers. A solar panel on the top catches sunlight, allowing the speakers to produce sharp vibrant sound even when the transmitter and the speaker are a room away from one another.
For fun, check out the following boo-boos:
Solar lighter You catch the sunlight via the attached mirror and it burns the end of your stick. Your patience is required.
Bamboo fan cap We really can't make out the logic for this one, but the blurb says "Sunlight (caught from the mirror above the head) powers the fan that blows onto the forehead of the person wearing this unfortunate fashion faux pas."
