AVerMedia Launches CES Honored Hybrid USB TV Tuner Stick - Image 1Convergence is the current trend in gadgets today. Just ask Sony and Microsoft: their consoles aren't just game platforms anymore, they're virtually media machines.

If convergence is what you're looking for, you might want to take a look at this little gadget: the AVerMedia Hybrid Volar MAX. It's a USB Hybrid TV tuner stick that allows you to pick up TV signals (and FM Radio to boot) on your PC.

The tuner stick will let your PC receive HDTV (up to 720p/1080i resolution), Analog TV, and FM Radio on a laptop or desktop running on Windows XP or Vista. Mac users may want to follow this link for a similar device for Mac computers.

The package it comes with includes the AVer MediaCenter that allows you to record unencrypted QAM digital cable TV. There's also an optional 320x240 resolution for those who want to record videos and transfer them to their iPods. Neat.

At CES 2008, this device won in the video accessories category. The AVerMedia Hybrid Volar MAX is already available for US$ 79.99. Perfect for those who don't want to watch both their PC screens and TVs at the same time.
