X-series - Image 1Sharp has announced that they will be working on a new model of ultra thin LCD TV for the X-Series line of products. What differentiates this product from other similar units on the market is that it supports Ammion's WHDI technology which allows it to receive uncompressed HD video streams wirelessly.

Each unit uses a component configuration which separates the display section from the tuner section. Both sections can be connected with a cable or through an optional wireless video transmitter unit that uses AMIMON’s WHDI technology.

The wireless video transmitter has a range of over 100 feet (30 m) and can go through multiple walls. It has a latency of less than one millisecond, meaning that gamers could technically even play video games on this unit with little to no lag.

Slated to hit Japan this March, the X-Series LCD TV will be available in 37, 42, and 46 inch models and are only 3.44 cm thick in its thinnest part. So far, no prices have been revealed.
