With the portable mp3 player craze still going strong, we've seen quite a lot of them pop up, running the gamut from the luxuriously fashionable to the weird and somewhat impractical. That said, we're not too sure where to place Sony's latest contraption that seems to come in the shape and form of a dancing, glowing egg. Yes, dancing. Yes, egg. It's Sony's Rolly.

Seemingly designed to break out of the mold of portable mp3 players, the Sony Rolly rolls across floors, playing your mp3s via an internal speaker as it goes. If that didn't sound weird enough, it actually "dances" to the beat, aided by a choreography system that makes two flaps on either side of it spin, move and clap in a pattern unique to the song it's currently pumping out.

There's no word on how much one will run for, or if it has a separate port for headphones in case we want to simply listen to our music in peace, and not have to watch out for an egg-shaped object every step we take. Rest assured we'll keep you up to date as soon as we get more details - and if you're still confused as to the Sony Rolly's existence, you can check out the video below.
