Here's a weekend project you might be interested in: Kip Kay of Make magazine shows us how to rig up an alarm clock so that we can turn it off by shooting at it with a phaser gun. Something a lot of us have wanted to do for a long time.

Now don't go imagining that the alarm clock is going to explode or anything. This is just a little project to make waking up a little easier. You basically hook up an old Sega Light Phaser to an alarm clock so that when you pull the trigger, the clock shuts up.

The instructions can get a little technical, so don't try to attempt this if you're not absolutely sure you can do it, or at the least, you can spare the cash to buy more stuff in case you fail. You can view the instructions by following the link at the bottom of the page.
