ElekTex Qwerty Keyboard
Leave it to Eleksen, makers of smart fabric interfaces, to turn cloth into hi-tech gadgets. Take the ElekTex qwerty fabric keyboard (out this June, $150) which connects wirelessly to PDAs and smart phones. Made of 100% fabric, it’s extremely lightweight (only 68g), you can roll it like any other piece of cloth and put it in your purse like a hankie. (Guys, you can stuff it your pant’s front pocket instead of socks.) Their fabrics so it’s totally hand-washable (washing machine version not yet available) so unlike desktop keyboards that have been accidentally drenched with lunch. It has no mechanical or moving parts making it extremely durable. Eleksen calls it “tough technology.” We call it “amazing!”
