And I am loving it. I never seen and hd dvd player/disc in my walmart and I dont think I ever will.
Both the pirates films are awesome both in video and audio quality, can't wait till they release the 3rd on Blu-ray
With Blu-ray being the chosen next gen movie format, everyone is starting to go Blu-ray exclusive world wide, it's all over the news
Yeah I love blu ray Its the best rom I ever seen!!! Blu Ray will win alltimes, I known that!!! earlier! peace for all of you !!!! (not for Bill Gatos) ms go down!
FFS this is a Movie format, wtf has this got to do with game consoles?, if I want to read about Movie formats I would go to a movie site, stick to game news not this *****.
frodo witha blu ray dis HAHAHHAHAHAH
i just bought the Mission Impossible Bluray Collection so that makes 27 Blu Ray movies for me, i haven't even watched some of them (still wrapped in plastic) having way too much of my time alloted for Oblivion and my 3rd Season on Association Mode in NBA2K7.
When I'm not wasting my life doing that, I boast about how I blow money supporting a company that doesn't give a s*it about me.
I'm soooo smart!
"The consumers are suppossed to decide to wins the foramt war- not the corporations"
Looks like the customers have spoken :)
LOL, 5 to 1... its like the wii vs the PS3!!!!
Looks like Blockbuster made a smart move.
Sony wins at everything, this is no surprise :p
Good to see something that deserves to win... to actually win. : D
yep i love blu-ray lol its awesome. I've watched casino royale and taledega nights and they were both awesome in both video and sound.
Im surprised no xbots have come yet and say something about the ps3 forcing the format...35$ mil spent on blu-ray movies 20m spent on hd-dvd. i think people with hd-dvd players buy more movies than people with blu-ray
Sony can never fail. They know what they are doing.
---
look up "Betamax" on google.
educate yourself.
they always lost in every media format they made... if they win this one it will be the first one... since betamax to the UMD movies... the last one fail for their fault because if they putted the video output in the psp in the first place it was like a portable dvd player and at home too.. and for a little more... well anyway... is an old story...
@ Monolithic
Sony fails....so do you
...Because the CD was a joint Sony-Philips venture. Is 20+ years and the most widely-distributed media format known to mankind what you call a failure?
oh sony's failed before.
ever hear of a yaroze??
The project that wasn't meant for mass-market, was made for PS1, then as the PS2 linux kit, and now built in to PS3?
How did that fail?
Maybe he meant the PSX?
nooo not that psx was a success it was meant for JAP only think ps2+ media pc
I know what it is, thats why I brought it up.
Im not exactly sure i believe these results i work for a BestBuy Co. and run reports daily on traffic on 2 disricts... about 16 stores all togehter and ever since the price drop to 349.99 HDDVD player we have been consistently sold out and even preorders are locked down, this lack of cheaper units has sparked interest in the 599.99 and 999.99 skus as well. However blueray plans to market its first 599.99 (other then the ps3) next week so well see how it goes i guess.
ps. fathers day weekend we were sold out nearly everywhere of HDDVD and DVD of Planet earth, blueray was nearly untouched expect a few outliers, interesting fact. maybe just a lot of wives out to get a 349.99 (HD) player with a (HD) movie, perhaps all they hear about there new setup at home is how HD is better blah blah blah, therefore they got something they think is good. it happened enough times at our store in oakville.
Its funny because you are just a few stores
comparing yourself to entire countrys
your full of crap. i had to wait a week to get planet earth on blueray at frys. plus bestbuy sucks.
u live in grand theft auto? idk your headline confuses me
GTA stands for Greater Toronto Area, and as far we being insignificant in sales best buy holds 17% market share along with around 23% future shop to combine to 40% of Ontario's game sales... were even more on overall sales... and the population of Ontario's is a good sample size to use; when considering Canada's population... all I am saying is when people come in to get the new HD experience with there HD sets most are opting for the 350.00 alternative and are not looking for an excuse to "get another gaming console" in the house sorry for telling it how it is? I guess fry's didn't really depend on Blueray taking off either as if what you are saying is true they must have had limited stock of planet earth. again just a suggestion however very logical and ...probable?
if you read the article, people who want to just watch movies are going for HD DVD.
It kind of seems like they are saying they won because a PS3 comes with a blu ray player.
To make it more simple (as I'm sure some people are too stupid to understand that):
People who want to watch hd movies go HD DVD. Think about it, they wouldn't buy it on 360 if they didnt, and they sell more stand alone players than blu ray. Sony is just doing what they had planned from the beginning by using the PS3 to bring in blu ray. Big surprise (/sarcasm). It's good blu rays winning for sony though I guess, but it really doesn't have any affect on me.
Oh and to the guy spending $20-$30 a movie just to have them sit and collect dust, you're an idiot.
i know 7 close friends who bought a PS3 instead of a stand alone Blu Ray player because it's a better deal... so ur argument about stand alone HDDVD vs stand alone Blu Ray doesn't hold water cause some people looking for a Blu Ray player just opted for the PS3 deal which is part of the plan actually by Sony moron... and as of now it is the cheapest Blu Ray player too... so why get a stand lone, ur stupidity is stellar.
as for my movies just sitting still yet untouched??? i can afford it... i've got an entertainment room with two walk in cabinets for dvds, games (from ps2 to ps3), and now blu rays... i've got all my movies catalogued on my pc for fast searching, i got more movies than ur entire neighborhood ass hole... i've got three PS3 (one in there, one in my room, and one in my car in which i've got some untouched Blu Ray movies in as well ready to be watched when i feel like it)...
now no matter what ur opinions are HDDVD is losing... u can't twist the facts...
Care to help a fellow gamer out by donating a PS3 to me?
the third one was sorta an accident... got two on launch for my kids and for myself (the one in my room) then when my bday came last May my mom gave me one (she didn't know i already had a PS3 and she has always known to give me video games everytime so she got one)...
good things may come on your bday my friend and hopefully it's before March 08 when MGS is scheduled to rock ur world.
" if you read the article, people who want to just watch movies are going for HD DVD."
nice conclusion, but don't you think the people who just want to watch movies go for the PS3 because it delivers a lot more than just a movieplayer ?
If i liked watching movies, I'd got for bluray, because i could do lots of things with my BRplayer
Stand alone hd-dvd players have a 50,000 unit lead over blu-ray. When hd-dvd players were $500-$600
you would have to be really stupid not to buy a ps3. From the start HD-dvd was an underdog, with disney and sony pictures backing blu-ray HD-dvd never had a chance. The HD-dvd camp knew that thy may be able to make a few bucks to get back some of the money spent on R+D. They knew they could rely on retailers greed and people ignorance of the business end of the "format war".
Hey guys, where is xman and his stupid comments ???
Go on BD !!!
He will come sooner or later just to say Blu-Ray sucks and to say.. no.. he never have nothing to say... it's better no ignore him... he just need attention that he never have in his home...
xman says blu is like a bootleg vhs.....hd dvd is the way to go.........loooool, no reasoning...
this artical makes no sence. they first say that blurr ray outsells hd dvd but then goes on to say that"US$ 55 million consumers spent on high-def DVD titles, US$ 35 million were on Blu-Ray titles"!!! so that means that this artical is a fake and hd dvd is winning!!!
$55 mil for the OVERALL high-def dvd titles... $35 mil of that is on Blu Ray...
where did you get the "HDDVD is winning"??
ohhh u thought the "high-def dvd titles" means HDDVD??? how sweet... now go back to school...
i said get new material... ur sounding redundant already and u've been here around a week and ur already drawing blanks???? u don't have enough brains to stay in this forum kid... just rub ur dog's balls.
check it out (http://news.digitaltrends.com/talkback158.html). now dont you feel like a dummy!! your just mad tha the ps3 has no games and sucks. d.i.c.k.head!!
lol... 35 millions seems to be the bigger share of a total of 55 millions to me.
What exactly is your problem.. the english language... or math?
everyone is wrong.. check the article.. oh wait.. it's from december 2006... anyway.. u was talking about this article... all your arguments was about this article... don't make u sound more stupid that u are...
Quixland is the sux @_@
Care to help a fellow gamer out by donating a PS3 to me? :)
hey xman u have dwn syndrome?
but your mom does!!
I knew you would say that either I have ESP or you are the simplest mutha fu(ker EVER.lol lol
Glad i got my PS3 when i did.
Something makes no sense about this.
They're only crediting 1.4 million PS3's in homes.
Numbers just aren't adding up.
DLD
that some sony fantard posted his story trying to give ps3 owners hope!! they are all stupid!!!
Isnt it closer to 3 mill now?
This isnt suprising since Warner Brothers which used to be an HD-DVD exclusive company now supports Blu-Ray. Blu-Ray has every company supporting them, especialy in the computer industry for backup BD+R/RW. With bith movie companies like Disney,Buena Vista ,Lions Gate, and Sony Pictures, does HD-DVD even see a chance of winning ? The only company keeping its titles exclusive to HD-DVD is Universal Pictures, but its only a matter of time :)
durka doo doo!! your stupid hd-dvd has more support then blurr-rey!! only peopel that supports blur-ray is sony and all sony movies suck!!
