Blu-ray devices have been showing up recently as the BenQ BW1000 three-in-one burner finally makes its appearance. This burner can read and write 25GB and 50 GB BD-R and BD-RE discs (Blu-ray) with a write speed 2x. 2x does sound a bit low, with about a 72mbps write speed, compared to a 108mbps write speed on a 16x DVD burner. This shouldn't come as a surprise  since Blu-ray technology is quite new. It took the DVD and CDR drives years to get the speed they're at now, let's hope the manufacturers can learn from the past and implement that technology now. No information about the price and release date for now so just stack up with your blanks until this BenQ product comes out.
