SanDisk Pro Duo - Image 1

It's time once again for our lovely bargain alert to show consumers the best way to get themselves a good deal. This time, we've found a deal at Fry's that should allow you to grab a new memory stick on the cheap.

According to Fry's, you can grab a SanDisk 4GB Pro Duo memory stick for US$ 59.99. Of course, that's after rebate, but it's still a good deal of homebrew, pictures, music, XMB hacks, C++ code, FHM scans, and funny home videos for you to pack into a little card. It's probably just a tad bit weaker than its US$ 70 compatriot, the SanDisk Ultra II, but it's still a worthwhile buy.

In any case, what are you waiting for, right? Keep checking QJ for more bargain alerts in the coming days.

Ya, ....but over 95% of the memory sticks on Ebay are fakes.. I know because I bought a 4GB for $40, and it looked real and everything in the pictures. Got it, and it didn't work at all, and was obviously fake. Luckily, I returned it and got all my money back :)

It's not the gaming one though (the translucent ones) so won't it be slower?

 » Don't trust rebates

I wouldn't trust any mail in rebate if I were you, they often reject them for no reason or even just ignore them.

 » Um, no...

I have NEVER had a problem with a rebate...ever. If you actually know how to fill them out and make copies, you'll be fine. I've done over 50 rebates for things in the past couple of years, and I have gotten every single one. I even used the one that was reported on QJ a few months back for purchase of a $29.99 256mb pro duo that had a $30.00 rebate. ... Guess what! Three weeks after sending it in, I had my rebate in my hands and a free memory stick. Yeah, it was only 256mb...but it was FREE! These things DO work...you just have to have some common sense..

 » also poor

i'm also poor, so i can't afford this. i've crammed so much into 1 gig, I can't imagine what I'd do with 4!! except carrying a lot more music on me...!

» You know that article about the free 256 a while back that GaveUpTomorrow was talking about?

I bought that and sent in the rebate and also got a free 256. Sometimes rebates never come, but I think it varies with the area you are in and if you do everything right. This is a pretty good deal. I would jump on this if it were for $50 or less. $60 still seems alittle steap for me.

 » Wait a little

The price of the 4gb will go down as soon as the 8gb comes out. That's what happened with the 1 gb when the 2gb came out.
